Ayres Montana Upgrade 248
BW: 89 WW: 807 YW: 1300 SC: 38 REA: 14.0
Ayres Angus is what you get after you cross the paths of a Miss American Angus (Cara Pascalar-Ayres) and the Oregon State University Livestock Judging Coach (Tommy Ayres). Finding a couple with more passion about great cattle isn’t easy. Breeding, raising, and selling great cattle is always the topic of the day at Ayres Angus…and it’s the belief in each other that makes it all happen.
There is a conviction at Ayres Angus that Angus can indeed, do all things, and at Ayres Angus, they must do them as frugally as possible. This philosophy and reality has molded the breeding decisions for over three decades, and has created a herd of 50 beautiful broods. Ayres have always bred cattle to make great bulls. Bulls that will leave their mark on a herd with not only the added performance and product he leaves in them, but also the legacy of his low maintenance yet maternal daughters. The couple
agree that the only way you can produce great bulls is with great females. The “girls” with butt, body, and balance, at Ayres Angus are only kept if they wean off a rip at side, year after year. This highly select herd has seen its accomplishments at the feedbunk (Treasure and Midland winners), in the Pathfinder report, and they have also received the nod of approval from respected judges with National Championships (many time top 10 National ROV breeder of the Year). Ayres Angus is not big on hype, only results.
The Ayres hope you will check-out their Sr Herdsire, Ayres Montana Upgrade 248. There is no need to look to Scotland for gentle new blood; “Montana Upgrade” is an outcross to most pedigrees.
His calves have headlined each of their 4 production sales, out gaining and phenotypically beating out their AI contemporaries. His daughters have claimed Championships from Denver, Reno, The American Royal, The NILE, The Montana Beef Expo, to The NW Preview, and he sired the Champion Angus at the Hoosier Beef Expo!
Jonwyn Ayres helps with chores and halter breaking at Ayres Angus. This first year 4Her was named Champion Showman, and won the tough Ravalli Co steer show with a “Montana Upgrade” sired registered steer! Most recently she showed the reserve Bred and-Owned junior heifer calf champion at the Western National Regional in Reno, NV. She also believes Angus can do all things! Here’s to your own cattle dreams!
